Today marks an exciting new chapter in the story of HR Open Source.
When we first began incubating HR Open Source at Hootsuite in April of 2015, we had a vision for what it could be. A thriving global community of progressive practitioners all around the globe opening up their playbooks, experience, and expertise to help their peers.
Since then, we’ve seen the community grow to 3,000 members from 50+ countries, contribute dozens of case studies, resources, collective intellect to help each other solve challenges and add more value to their organizations.
Through the first two years we self-funded. Our priority was getting to know the global community and partnering to help determine what we could build that would best support you - together. In February we announced a new sponsorship model to fuel our continued growth and expansion.
Our year one funding aim was relatively modest, aiming to cover basic operational expenses so we could continue building something meaningful and valuable. Over time, our goal is to bring on more sponsors to support our continued growth plans. In addition to helping us reach our growth goals, it will also allow us to establish a for-profit for good model where we can reinvest 10% of our revenue into an HROS Foundation to support innovation, training, and mentorship programs in HR and recruiting.
With this, we are excited to share our inaugural group of sponsors to kick off this new chapter in HR Open Source’s history!
We’re grateful to all of these organizations for sharing our vision and belief that openness and collaboration are the keys to unlocking HR’s future. Each one of them have been supporters from the start, from volunteering their time to hosting events to helping shape our focus with you all over the years. They have already made a huge impact on our community and we look forward to continuing on this adventure.
We’ll continue adding sponsors throughout the year, so if you or your company would like to discuss a partnership, let us know at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Much more to come!
